Not sure if this answer your question, but you can refer for this info to the next gen accelerometer wrt to the LIS3DH, but very similar in this sense, i.e. the LIS2DW12, datasheet p.7:
Here, 4 mA is the maximum driving capability, i.e. the maximum DC current that can be sourced/sunk by the digital pad in order to guarantee the correct digital output voltage levels VOH and VOL.
