What does "Remember me on this computer" do?

Rob.Riggs

When logging in to community.st.com, there is a checkbox for "Remember me on this computer". In all other systems that have this option, it sets a cookie in the browser with a reasonably long timeout (one month or so) and is renewed whenever the site is revisited. For this site, however, that checkbox does not seem to do anything. I must log in over and over and over again. Frustrating and harms usability. Does this actually work as expected for anyone?

I have verified that my cookie settings are the defaults for st.com.

Indeed - doesn't even pre-fill the email address:

Hello @Rob.Riggs,

Many thanks for your feedback.
It's clear to me that you prefer being logged in as soon as you enter our community.
I've forwarded this suggestion, and will get back to you as soon as I have more information.

@Andrew Neil, would you mind telling me which OS, browser, and browser version you are using? I'd like to do an exact replication of what you are experiencing.

Best regards,
Laurids

currently Windows 11; Chrome Version 127.0.6533.120 (Official Build) (64-bit) although, AFAIR, it has always been like this - since Win 7 or before

@Laurids_PETERSEN Any update on this request?

Hi @Rob.Riggs,

Unfortunately I don't have anything to share yet.

Best regards,
Laurids
