multiple notifications for the same post

These two notifications refer to the exact same post:

He couldn't have mentioned me without making a reply, so I really don't need two separate notifications!

And why are the two email notifications sent 7 minutes apart?!

Hi @Andrew Neil,

Thanks for your feedback. 

Given that the notifications are triggered separately there is no immediate fix/workaround to this issue. 

We can look into scenarios where only one notification is necessary in general. I can't promise we can change anything soon, but the feedback is noted.
