Lots of spam lately

It looks very unprofessional for a company forum to be overrun by spam to this level. Here was the front page this morning:

Have also flagged quite a few posts in the past few days.

Perhaps new users bots shouldn't be allowed to create 18 new posts in the first 5 hours they join?

Not really here to fix the problem, but given the level of spam, seems like first time posters should be manually "approved" prior to them showing up. Would solve almost all spam issues from new accounts.

Thanks for your feedback and mitigation suggestion.
I can confirm that we are observing a significant increase in spam posts, as illustrated by your screenshot. This is a priority for us to fix.

Our automatic spam filter did not catch a majority of these posts. The increase in spam is happening across other communities/forums as well.
The provider for the spam filter is looking for adjustments while still avoiding false positives. Alongside filter adjustments, we are investigating additional solutions for more proactive actions against spam.
