Can we have a better display for read-only threads?

TDK

The current marking is one character per line and it bleeds into other posts. Looks very amateur. The new forum has been here for many years at this point, can we improve the presentation here?

Hi @TDK,

Thanks for reporting this issue. I can replicate this behavior and have observed that it occurs only in older threads. I have escalated it to the respective team.

I will keep you updated.
Lina

Yes, I have also noticed this.

Where it occurs, it always seems to be older threads created by "normal" users, and locked some time later.

Newer ones seem to be (mostly?) created by ST staff as read-only from the outset; eg,

A complex system that works is invariably found to have evolved from a simple system that worked.
A complex system designed from scratch never works and cannot be patched up to make it work.

Thanks for the observation, @Andrew Neil. This is not always the case, see: FDA903 I2C documentation - STMicroelectronics Community

We have an automated rule where threads with 0 activity are locked after a certain period of time. I am investigating whether this rule or certain content types disrupt this feature.

The thread you shared in the screenshot is locked by the employee himself directly after posting and not by the automated rule.

If you notice anything else, let me know.

Thanks,
Lina
