TDA7498E

Hi ST,

I designed a TDA7498E evaluation board, but the power is only several Watts, do you know why? Another question is do we need to connect PGND (PIN18 ) to PGNDA or PGNDB, do we need to connect SVCC(PIN35) to PVCCA or PVCCB, and do we need to connect SVSS(PIN36) to PGNDA or PGNDB?

Thank you!

Best regards,

Yuehai

We don't know, why your board only provides a few watts, because we don't have your schematics or layout, nor do we know if the TDA7498E is genuine.

All of the pins in question are internal connections that require external decoupling:

  • PGND (pin 18) may only be connected to the decoupling capacitor, not to PGNDA or PGNDB
  • VSS (pin 36) may only be connected to the decoupling capacitor, not to PGNDA or PGNDB
  • SVCC (pin 35) may only be connected to the decoupling capacitor, not to PVCCA or PVCCB

BTW: the datasheet, table 4 still mentiones SVCC, but this is a typo and will be removed.
