Unable to flash STM32C011F4U6TR Database: There's no active configuration for this device

Hi everyone,

I'm using a custom board with minimal circuitry; currently, only an STM IC with a reset circuit is installed. The SWD analysis using a data logger shows that the chip is responding and the electrical connections are fine.

I’m using the Nucleo-F401RE as a programmer; programming the onboard chip works without errors, but not when communicating with the target controller via the SWD interface.

I get the following message:

Error: Database: There's no active configuration for this device. All 2 configurations are disabled!

I have selected the “Hardware reset” and “Under reset” settings.

Here is the report

Welcome to the forum.

As it’s a custom board, you need to share the schematic:

Is it a new design, or has it worked before?

I’m using the Nucleo-F401RE as a programmer; programming the onboard chip works without errors, but not when communicating with the target controller via the SWD interface.

Have you correctly configured the Nucleo mode for this ?

Have you disconnected NRST from the Nucleo’s on-board target?

Can you program your custom board using a standalone ST-Link?

For serious work, I would strongly suggest getting a standalone ST-Link - see:

A complex system that works is invariably found to have evolved from a simple system that worked.A complex system designed from scratch never works and cannot be patched up to make it work.
