Understanding external clock configurations

For my CubeMX application on the STM32F091RC we are trying to setup an active external clock source. We do this by selection 'BYPASS Clock Source' for 'High Speed Clock (HSE) Mode', correct?

Seems confusingly simple, I wanted to ask here before researching further in the Reference Manual and Datasheet.

I think that 'BYPASS Clock Source' is just the first step, from the 'Pinout & Configuration' tab.

The second step is then from the 'Clock Configuration' tab where you select the HSE for the 'System Clock Mux' as shown below, correct?

Feels kind of obvious now, this look correct?
