Stm32CubeIDE 1.17.0: Doing a "Continue" with older firmware, the CubeMX window is not displayed.

When going to open my project's IOC file, I am presented with the following options:

If I select "Continue", the CubeMX perspective is blank. If I select "Migrate", the CubeMX perspective is viewable.

Isn't the older version supported?

Any idea what the effort is to fix all of the issues a "Migrate" will do? This is not good time for my project to be dealing with this.
