on a precious advice of the Fedora Community, I took over the JRE bundled version with the one downloadable from the site adoptopenjdk(dot)net. The reference to the site was available in the readme html file present in the zip installation file.
Once the folder is overwritten, eliminating all the contents of the previous JRE folder, you can proceed with the correct installation.
