how to recognize newer version of stm32cubemx?

I was given an example that was created with version 6.6.1. I upgraded to from 6.6.0 to 6.6.1 and the system still thinks I am using 6.6.0. How do I fix this?

Hello @BRobb.1​ 

Try to open the CubeMx 6.6.1 first then load the *.ioc file from there.

Propably your PC contain both version of the CubeMX and the default version linked to the *.ioc file is the older one.
