Question

CubeMX error using MMT STM32U575

While using CubeMX Memory Management Tool (MMT) to create an SRAM4 region as shown in the image:

Error configuration

There appears to be an error on the Pinout & Configuration tab, the error is:

Error on FLASH

I think that the error happens because of the end page configurated by default. The MAX value is 127, but when I´m using MMT the value goes to 255. I found a work around of this problem by reducing the FLASH size, from 2MB to 1MB, luckily I don´t need all the available FLASH memory to run my firmware. But I was wondering if this is a bug or I´m doing something wrong.

Work around
Problem fixed

The only reason I´m using MMT is because I´m in VScode and there was no way to auto generate the SRAM4 region in the Linker File. I´ve got it working with some AI assistance, but I wanted the “safety” of using the official Linker File config.

Best regards,
Mariano

I think I found the issue. While making more tests, I think it is an UI issue. I will describe the test:

  1. I reverted the commit where this issue happen (before the memory definition using MMT)
  2. I made the same changes, added SRAM4 on MMT and changed LPDMA CH0 privileges
  3. The code generated correctly and the UI did not show an error
  4. I close the UI and when I opened it again, the issue was there

On further inspection the STM32U757 has two 1MB FLASH banks, as seen here:

Before SRAM4 generation

After defining SRAM4, the issue appears as shown on the first message, this happens after closing and opening the UI.

The only solution to this error is not using MMT.
