Automation Report Generation

Hello everyone,

 

I have seen that is possible to generate a pdf report using STM32CubeMX (version 6.18.1) as shown in the image:
 

Is there a way in order to launch a command line to run this operation? In order to automatize my development process.

This is interesting to me so im following this thread too.

Are you linux or windows as you could probably quite easily make a bash script to generate the report which you could run in command line. Dependant on operating system but the work flow will go something like.

CREATE VIRTUAL DISPLAY → LAUNCH PROJECT FROM COMMAND LINE → SEND CTRL+R TO GEN REPORT → APPEARS IN OUTPUT FOLDER.

I might try and make one on my end if i get a chance but let me know if any other thought springs to mind

I am working on windows, but I think it isn’t relevant for the issue.

My goal is to put this report into a pipeline on github. For that reason my idea was to create a dedicated docker container with CubeMX inside, but I want to avoid the display management.

Your propose is interesting and for now I don’t see any other ways due to the forced application interaction.

I think ST has designed into CubeMX the report generator, that takes all the info from the ioc file, so it could be interesting to extract that part as a stand alone executable file and launch in the CLI the generation. I don’t know how difficult could be for the ST team, but if the SW is well design, it could be done very quickly!
