Update stm32Cube IDE

Hi,

 

we have an issue updating stm32cube ide. 

We get an error 

"Valid cert chain, but no trust certificate found!"

like in post:

Solved: STM32CubeIDE 1.13.2 Check Updates failing with "no... - STMicroelectronics Community

But there is no solution, just a "relayed to support". 

 

We solved it some time ago with adding 

-Djavax.net.ssl.trustStore=NUL
-Djavax.net.ssl.trustStoreType=Windows-ROOT

to the .ini, but this doesnt seem to work anymore.

 

Any help here?

I am not able to reproduce the issue, could you provide more information about your OS and the version of CubeIDE to be updated.

Hi Souhaib,

its on a Windows 10 machine with version 1.13.2.

The issue is caused by a proxy, this is a known issue (pls. see mentioned post above).

We have had this earlier and it could be resolved by adding above settings into stm32cubeide.ini (which corresponds to eclipse.ini in other systems basing on eclipse) to use windows certificate storaged. Apparently this does not work any more. Pls. advise.

Please try to reload the available software site in Preferences>Install/Update> as demonstrated in attached screenshot, also don't forget to check the connexion.

Recommended just to download the whole new version and run the installer. Not to fumble with update over internet.

If you prefer, keep the old version and install the new one side by side.

Remember to not reuse Eclipse workspaces from other version. Create a new workspace.

while its not the perfect way as there is an update function for the tool, it worked.
