STM32CubeIDE Blocked by User

Hello,

Our IT setup requires us to install STM32CubeIDE through an administrator account and then set the privileges to all users. However, when I try to run STM32CubeIDE.exe on my standard account, I get a message “Blocked by System Administrator”. I am sure the privileges and security settings through windows has the .exe permitted for standard accounts.

Thank you.

Our IT setup requires …

Sounds like a question for your IT support, then.

A complex system that works is invariably found to have evolved from a simple system that worked.A complex system designed from scratch never works and cannot be patched up to make it work.

IT support and myself are stumped with this issue. This is something that only happens with the STM32CubeIDE software. We’ve installed plenty of software with this method and I’m wondering if this is a known issue with STM32CubeIDE.

To clarify we simply. . .

Install on an admin account > install for all users > make sure privileges (rwx) are enabled for all users > run on standard user to test.

I run into the same issues since my company has started getting stricter a couple months ago. My IT guy said to right click on it and run it as an Administrator. A different pop up window asks me the reasoning and i just type in a simple word, install. Of course YMMV with your company account.
