The "Search next" bug is still not fixed in this release. It keeps searching for a previously searched string when using the keyboard shortcut to search a string again.

Don't use IDE to upgrade. It shows new version is 1.7 and will downgrade to 1.7.
This is normal ST software quality, nothing is surprised.

Update in IDE 1.18.0 -> 1.18.1  , on Linux (up to date MxLinux) seems ok :

Won't start after the upgrade. "The Stm32cubeide executable launcher was unable to locate its companion shared library."

Seems bad configuration was written during the upgrade:

$ head stm32cubeide.ini
-vm
configuration/org.eclipse.osgi/2153/data/62451304/plugins/com.st.stm32cube.ide.jre.linux64_3.4.0.202409160955/jre/bin
-startup
configuration/org.eclipse.osgi/2153/data/62451304/plugins/org.eclipse.equinox.launcher_1.6.900.v20240613-2009.jar
--launcher.library
configuration/org.eclipse.osgi/2153/data/62451304/plugins/org.eclipse.equinox.launcher.gtk.linux.x86_64_1.2.1100.v20240722-2106
...
$ ls configuration/org.eclipse.osgi/2153
ls: cannot access 'configuration/org.eclipse.osgi/2153': No such file or directory

Perhaps the worst IDE that has ever been developed! After two weeks of trying modifying a base example I have realised that 99% of the problem comes from the IDE.

Rename? Too complex operations.
Import? Where are the files?

What is the rationale behind this literally ***? The STM32 products are beautiful, but this  IDE really makes impossible to ramp up.
Do you have any alternatives? Or should I buy NXP?
