Question

I am new for stm32F4 micro controller, I tried to send data through usart2 of the micro controller to USB serial port that. When I launch my Putty, it doesn't show any data. Can anyone help me out ?

In PuTTy , I selected /dev/ttyACM0 and set baud_rate as 9600 which is same as of the micro controller.

Which board and which chip exactly?

Is USART2 hooked up to the serial port with the pins you selected?

I am using stm32F407VG, its USART2 is connected with serial port st-link

Ok, that's a CHIP, what's the BOARD it is on?

The STM32F407G-DISCO/1 boards don't have physical connectivity to the ST-LINK

What PINS are you using, show how they are connected, show the code involved, it will be a lot easier than guessing or playing twenty questions.

The STM32 output CMOS levels, not RS232 ones.

The frequency of HSE needs to correctly reflect HSE_VALUE definition for the baud rate math to work

The STM32 USART TX Output pin needs to connect to a Receiving Input pin..

That's main.c and all default clock settings are used.

I got the same situation before. My solution is to config "Pinout & Configuration->System Core->RCC->High Speed CLock(HSE)" to "Crystal/Ceramic Resonator"(if there is a crystal on the board) , and config all the clock in the "Clock Configuration" to the top speed.

Should be running off HSI at 16 MHz. Should be able to function at 115,200 baud

Suggest scoping the USART2_TX pin (PA2 ??)

Scope PD12, is that toggling?

If you are asking about USART2_TX , then yes PA2 is set for this purpose and yes PD12 is toggling.
