Window > Preferences > C/C++ > Editor > Content Assist > Advanced

uncheck all proposals

I read your question wrong, sorry. IMHO it is not possible to trigger automatic auto completion in Eclipse CDT without pressing a key.

It's not an IDE, it's a piece of crap. I have no idea how to make auto complete work. Constantly writes No completions available

  2. press ctrl+space
