With the latest STM32H5 lines, you can now scale within the same platform, from a compact 1 Mbyte device to higher-memory MCUs for graphics-rich and feature-heavy designs.

Built on the Arm Cortex-M33 running up to 250 MHz, STM32H543/553 and STM32H5Ex/Fx devices scale from 1 Mbyte to 4 Mbytes of flash, enabling a consistent platform for secure, connected, and graphics-enabled embedded applications.
 

STM32H543/553: a compact option for secure embedded designs

The new STM32H543/553 line are designed for developers who need strong security, rich connectivity, and efficient memory use in a more compact device.

Key features:

  • Build secure embedded applications in a smaller memory footprint with 1 Mbyte of flash and 304 Kbytes of RAM
  • Start from a stronger security foundation with TrustZone, secure boot, authenticated debug, tamper protection, and a broad crypto set including AES, SAES, SHA-1/2/3, RSA, ECC, TRNG, HUK, and OTFDEC
  • Integrate more without adding extra components thanks to Ethernet, FD-CAN, USB FS/UCPD, I²C, I3C, SPI, UART/USART, OctoSPI, SDMMC, FMC, ADC, and COMP
  • Add custom control on chip with PLAY for logic, state machines, and application-specific behavior
     

STM32H5Ex/Fx: more memory and more graphics headroom

If your design needs larger code space, more SRAM, or advanced graphics support, the STM32H5Ex/Fx lines extend the family with more room to build.

  • Up to 4 Mbytes of flash and 1.5 Mbytes of SRAM, giving you more headroom for complex software, graphics assets, and feature-rich applications
  • Flash partitioning for both code and graphics assets
  •  Three ADCs and three FDCAN interfaces, supporting industrial‑grade analog signal acquisition
  • USB FS and USB HS with embedded PHY
  • PLAY for fast custom logic and deterministic control
  • High on‑chip integration to reduce external components and simplify overall design
     

The STM32H5Ex/Fx lines also introduce the first STM32 MCU with the ChromART2 accelerator. For developers building embedded GUIs, this means:

  • STM32Trust TEE and hardware accelerators (AES, HASH, PKA, OTFDEC)
  • STiRoT secure boot
  • Coupling and chaining bridge (CCB) to securely transmit keys
  • Target PSA Certified Level 3 and SESIP3 certification
