Question

I need an Qt6 QML example for Vulkan that fits STM32MP257

Hi!

I'm trying to developing a Qt6 QML application with Vulkan support. But I having some issues.

Can ST Dev Team give me an example of an Qt6 QML application that use Vulkan? It must work on STM32MP257. It will be a reference. I think I having wrong code settings on my Qt6 QML application. For OpenGL, it works. But not for Vulkan.

Thank you!

Hello,

I recently run the following example into OpenSTDroid environment (STM32MP257), so it should run as well in OpenSTLinux:

Qt/Examples/Qt-6.11.2/quick/scenegraph/vulkantextureimport

But I had to modify one initialization:

Original:
    imageInfo.tiling = VK_IMAGE_TILING_OPTIMAL;
    imageInfo.initialLayout = VK_IMAGE_LAYOUT_PREINITIALIZED;
Modified:
    imageInfo.tiling = VK_IMAGE_TILING_LINEAR;
    imageInfo.initialLayout = VK_IMAGE_LAYOUT_UNDEFINED;

In pure OpenSTLinux, I remember I also run this example a few months ago:

examples/quick/scenegraph/vulkanunderqml/vulkanunderqml

BR,

Philippe.

Thank you @PPAGE.13

I have measured the FPS difference and CPU/RAM usage between a Qt6 app made with OpenGL and one with Vulkan.

It seems that the Qt6 app made with OpenGL runs faster than Vulkan. Is that something well known?  I have heard that cmd vulkaninfo shows that the support for Vulkan 1.3 is not complete for MP2?

@PPAGE.13

Thank you.

Meanwhile I will use OpenGL ES due to lower memory usage and lower CPU usage.
