First of all, if you are using NUCLEO-F401RE board, you have wrong MCU and board selection.

Among STM32 MCUs, you need to select an MCU with a Display Controller.

The STM32CubeMx tool makes it easy to select an MCU. And you have to choose a board for testing, you can check the ST evaluation boards there.
