Text area is displaying wrong font

Hi,

I want to use Handle Gothic Font in my project. I am seeing strange thing happening while displaying text area with this font.

In this font family, All font types are displaying text exactly as similar to the font family alphabets. But only Regular type is not displaying exact Font.

To test, use DEPTH as text to display. In this font, E is curved.

In the attached file i have added 2 font types . One is Regular(In which i am getting issue) and other is Medium(No issue).

I have checked this issue in both 4.16 and 4.17 versions.

Please help me to solve the issue.

Hi,

I am getting this issue on some other fonts also. But When I Run the simulator, it displays the font what i have configured. So only TouchGFX Designer is showing wrong font.

Could anyone please help on this issue. it's getting difficult to configure screens with wrong font display.

Are you saying the font in the Simulator is different than the font in the Designer or are you saying placement of the text is different on the Simulator compared to that on the Designer? I ask this because there is a known issue with the placement of the text in a textArea in the Designer compared to the Simulator (or target, for that matter). TouchGFX Designer doesn't use the rasterized font where as what is in the Simulator and Target do.

And yes, this beyond frustrating...... Basically for each and every font you use, you need to come up with vertical and sometimes horizontal offsets to accommodate for how it the text will actually be presented on the simulator and target.

Thanks for the response.

Issue1:

-         When the custom font is selected, font displayed in the designer is different from the font selected. But when we run the simulator, it displays font selected.

Issue2:

-         When the custom font is selected, placement of the text is different from the designer. yes as you said, I have to adjust the vertical and horizontal offsets to get the actual display position.

Do you have any solutions for these.

Sorry, I don't think there is a solution (yet) for the offset issue.

@Alexandre RENOUX​  gave his input on that issue.

One of the ST people will have to give you input on your custom font not working, is it simply falling back to another font if it doesn't see your font?
