Request for macOS (Apple Silicon) builds of TouchGFX 4.26.0 simulator library and asset tools
Problem
Our team builds a product UI on TouchGFX 4.26.0. A growing number of our developers use Apple Silicon (arm64) macOS machines, but we can only build inside a Linux x86-64 container. The reason is that all host-side TouchGFX artifacts we depend on are shipped as Linux ELF x86-64 or Windows only, there is no macOS build. These are the four files we need macOS versions of:
touchgfx/lib/linux/libtouchgfx.a
touchgfx/3rdparty/libjpeg/lib/linux/libjpeg.a
touchgfx/framework/tools/imageconvert/build/linux/imageconvert.out
touchgfx/framework/tools/fontconvert/build/linux/fontconvert.out
Items 1, 2 are what we statically link; items 3, 4 are standalone CLI tools we run at build time. We already have the matching framework/include headers from the 4.26.0 release, so nothing else is needed on our side.
Expected / requested
A macOS (Darwin) build of exactly those four artifacts, ideally as universal binaries (arm64 + x86_64). These are the same portable C++ sources you already compile for Linux and Windows, and the 4.26.0 release notes mention full ST Arm Clang toolchain support across platforms, so a clang-based macOS target should fit the existing build setup. We are not asking for TouchGFX Designer on macOS, rather only these library/CLI artifacts.
We are fine with an unsupported / best-effort build, and we're happy to validate the binaries on both Apple Silicon and Intel Macs and report back.
Alternative: if binaries can't be shared, the build instructions/makefiles for the simulator library and the two tools would be equally useful, the tool folders in the release currently contain only prebuilt binaries, no sources.
Thanks for your support.
