To make it short, no it doesn't. Actually you don't show any pixels so you won't ask resources for that.

But keep in mind that if you do some calculation on the widget (like for example an analog clock that would refresh any second), you'll still ask for resources from your MCU for your calculation, even if you don't show anything on your screen.
