Can I fix this defective display on a new STM32F746G-DISCO board?

When I powered this board, I immediately noticed the display was burnt or had some sort of after image on it. Or maybe it is something else.

My reseller has not been responsive.

Is there any way I can fix this display myself?

Looks to be an issue the the back-light or diffuser.

The panel is fixed with high adhesion double sided foam. Not really anything that is user serviceable.
