Why Fast_Read need a Dummy Byte?

hi!

While reading flash or some other in Fast_Read mode, we have to send a DUMMY Byte in order to receive Results?

Why it is required?

You need to provide far more context and details for your question to make sense to the general forum audience unfamiliar with your project, or the code and libraries being used.

Assuming for a second that this is an SPI interfaced device, you have to send data in order to generate the clock pulses, and in turn capture data returned from the device.
