I want the STM32H75x, but it's hard to find in my country. That said, I don't want to write clones of "anonymous" companies.

I wonder when production will be back to normal.

Define normal, the ideal situation is the fab is operating at capacity, and any slack capacity goes to making a mix of products to maintain stocks of parts with random/unplanned demand.

Now there is a lot of demand and orders, perhaps at least a year's worth, ahead of you in the queue.​

I​ts a bit like getting to the DMV, or other government offices, late and wondering why there's a waiting line around the building or down the street. You're competing with people more nimble and motivated.

I​ wouldn't expect a return to the status quo for another 9 to 12 months, plus whatever the recessionary cycle throws into the mix.

I finally understood. As it is a part that I touch as a hobby, I hope that priority will be given to those who purchase for a living and that the factory will return to normal.

It's undoubtedly a complete mess, and a lot of factors come into play.

My boss lamented yesterday that wafers he ordered a year ago still haven't got a scheduled time to go through the fab.

Volumes of parts, setup complexity, size of business also play a role. The fab in question was partially funded by the government, so they got to dictate priorities, and their wafers got done before anyone else's, based on their percentage "ownership" of available capacity.

On the flip-side we might see a glut in parts and a lot of built-out / excess capacity at some point in the near future.

Distributors like Mouser, Farnell, Arrows displays the delivery dates for their orders. Many are expected as late as July 2023, some December 2023...

As undelivered buyers go bankrupt, stock will appear at brookers.

The next year is going to be even more chaotic.

Whatever was there 6 hours ago has gone. Mostly the only thing to see on H7 and F7 front are development boards, not ICs

The L4's I've had on order pushed out months further now into 23Q1/Q2
