Multiple versions of a driver package can be installed on a Windows machine.

The Device manager will show which driver version is actually active when you connect the device to a PC.

When you attach new device, windows does use the latest driver version by default, but you can force older one from device manager and it should remember it next time for the given device.

Device Manager can also remove the specific currently used version from system by ticking "Delete the driver software for this device.".
