It is something used in multi processor systems. Read the appropriate ARM debug documents.

As Uwe said above, it's for multiprocessor communication.

For most "single-core" STM32, there's only one real purpose of that setting in the GPIO AF matrix I know of, namely it enables to generate a single-clock pulse when the SEV instruction is executed - this can be used for debugging purposes.
