Unavailablity of NOR Flash

Hello Everyone,

I am aiming to integrate a 64mb NOR Flash non-volatile memory to my stm32n6,

However, the recommended models were MX66UW1G45GXDI00 and MX25UM51245GXDI00,

They are out of stock on every major electronics market in the world,,

are there any legit alternatives to these models , that are compaitable with stm32n6 and serves my need,

If so please let me know.

Please check the feedback from sidekick. It seems 64mb NOR is too small for density recommendation...

 

For STM32N6, the official material explicitly lists the following qualified NOR flash memories for external serial memory interfaces: Macronix MX25UM51245G, Macronix MX25LMS51245G, Infineon S71KL512SC0BHI00, and for XSPI, Macronix MX66UW1G45GXDI00.

A few alternatives worth checking for Octal SPI NOR Flash compatible with STM32N6 (XSPI interface):

• Infineon/Cypress Semper Flash — S28HL512T (512Mb) or S28HL01GT (1Gb), Octal SPI with DTR support
• Micron MT35XU series (e.g., MT35XU512ABA) — also Octal SPI, commonly used with STM32 XSPI
• GigaDevice GD25/GD55 series — check GD25LX256E or similar Octal SPI parts, often better stock availability
• Winbond W25M/W35N series — worth checking if their Octal SPI parts meet your speed/voltage requirements

Since STM32N6 uses XSPI, make sure whichever part you pick supports Octal DTR mode and matches the voltage/package footprint of the MX66UW1G45G/MX25UM51245G to minimize board redesign.

Also worth checking Digi-Key/Mouser/LCSC stock alerts — these chips go in and out of stock often due to the ongoing memory shortage, so setting alerts might get you the original parts back in stock too.
