Touch water sensing?

Hi! Can I use touch sensing embedded in stm32L432 to sens water level or just water presence? Contact or contactless (capacitive).

I want to use this to sens water presence. Connect a long (5-10m)wire to touch PIN and another to​ GND. Or just single wire from touch pin to water.

Can this work?​ Or better do this differently?

For now Im using additional water level sensor.​

If you can prepare electrode system so that it forms capacitors (i.e. not bare wire to water), has similar idle capacitance, and similar change of capacitance, than the touch areas, then why not. The mcu does not know what is the source of the capacitance change.
