Question

STM32H753 vs STM32H23 radiation tolerance

We plan to use a STM32H723 for our main MCU on board a student CubeSat.

We are currently verifying if this is a feasible option. I came across this report by the Open Source Satellite Project testing radiation effects on the STM32H753.

As they are from the same series but not the same line of MCUs I was wondering if the report is roughly applicable also to the STM32H723 used by us.

I would be glad to head it if anybody had some input regarding this topic.

Thanks in advance
Kai

Dear @ka1,

We confirm that both MCUs are based on same Technology Node and libraries which is a proprietary STMicroelectronics 40nm Process - immunity versus radiation and alpha particles as the same , with the difference that STM32H723 has a smaller silicon size and less digital  So I’m expecting function operations improvements versus the great 2021 Report from OpenSatellite org .

Cheers,
