STM32H743XIH6 internal temperature sensor calibration vs accuracy

Hi all,

I really hope someone can shed some light on this...

I am trying to find any information regarding the accuracy of the internal temperature sensor of the STM32H7 family, more specifically the STM32H743XIH6.

I understand that each device is factory calibrated to improve the accuracy, however I cannot find what the accuracy actually is, I mean, I cannot find any official source of information, I've seen some saying that it is ±1.5C, but nothing in the ST documentation.

Any help is appreciated.

I think this has been mentioned before - try  a search.

IIRC, the sensor isn't built for accuracy - it's there to look for changes rather than to take absolute measurements...

Also note, that it measures temperature of the chip (silicon), which can be vastly different from the plastic case surface and ambient.

its given in ds ; but need read the TS_CAL + formula in manual:

at 30° : +/- 5° C .

S, do you think this can be interpretated as the accuracy at 30°C?

As this is the only given range for the temperature sensor value - yes.

 

And don't forget, this is not a sensor for really measuring temperature, it's more to get some information about the actual chip temperature: is it in acceptable range or not. Depending on actual work load, it could go up or down some degrees in seconds, so +/- 5C is okay.
