STM32F746G-DISCO - demo displays :scrambled'' pictures

Hi,

I had a few STM32F746-DISCO boards. This time I bought second hand board and uploaded demo app.

All pictures are 'scrambled'. I cannot figure out what is going on. Seems like a hardware defect.

Please share your thought on this.

OK. the upload procedure I took was wrong. Need to uload file to the external flash I guess.

When I try to follow the demo upload procedure I failed several times. After reaching 75% of the progress bar status I got the ST-LINK utility errors:

22:40:26 : Device family :STM32F74x/F75x

22:43:54 : STLink USB communication error

22:43:54 : Error occured during program operation!

22:43:55 : Can not connect to device!

U use ST-LINK 4.1.1 with the latest ST-LINK firmware on the board.

Then I tried erase the flash (including the external as the external loader is selected - N25Q128A_STM32F746..)

and this time I got:

In the readme file I see that the ST-LINK 3.9 was used. I cannot find this particular version anymore on the st.com.

I wonder it it really matters. It seems that v4.1.1 has the same options available.

ST-LINK 4.1.1 works fine with programming of external flash (QPSI).

The problem was related to the clock frequency. After setting it to 4MHz all worked fine (no timeout during flash programming). The images are beautiful (unusually beautiful).

Hi. I am afraid I need to re-open the topic... :\

I am using the STM32F746G-DISCO kit, and I want to debug the "demo" application. The steps I followed (according to "readme.txt" file)

1. I restored the board to factory settings, using the ST-LINK utility with N25Q128A_STM32F746G-DISCO loader and the STM32CubeDemo_STM32746G-DISCO_V1.4.0.hex binary. Afther the process, GUI works perfect!
2. Then I go to my IDE, and opened the project located in STM32Cube_FW_F7_V1.12.0\Projects\STM32746G-Discovery\Demonstration\STemWin.
3. If I do not change anything, compile OK. When I load the program into the board, the GUI becomes wrong: icons appear like the attached image in this thread. :unamused_face:

I tried changing the main clock frequency, adding an algorithm to external flash, modifying RAM ranges, but it does not work.
