STM32F746 discovery hardware audio input rate

Is the STM32F746 discovery hardware for the Audio Application limited to 16k on the input rate?
In stm32746g_discovery_audio.h, changing the '#define DEFAULT_AUDIO_IN_FREQ I2S_AUDIOFREQ_16K' to '#define DEFAULT_AUDIO_IN_FREQ I2S_AUDIOFREQ_48K' results in .wav with incorrect data.
