stm32f446e-eval board bootloader

I just received my brand new STM32446E-EVAL board and the first thing I tried to use was in the In-System bootloader.  My problem is that the ''Flash Loader Demonstrator'' utility never connects to the mcu.  I keep the getting a ''No response from the target, the Bootloader can not be started ...'' .  I double checked that Boot1 = 0, Boot0 = 1, and  all my COM settings.  I must be missing something.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  I still need to check the flash protection level,... I new to this mcu so I need to figure out how to accomplish this.

Is it connecting to the right USART? The System-Loader has limited connectivity, and sensitive to transitions on interfaces it is watching.

Perhaps try the USB-FS connector and see if it comes up in DFU mode.
