Had a look at the newest 'F437/439 datasheet (wonder why 'F427/'F429 was not updated with the same things, e.g. ETH_MII_RXD2 missing in the AF table for PH6):

I don't think it was supposed to look like this.

This is a very nice new figure clearly displaying what's going on (although in TT the upper protection diode on the pin to VDD is present, too, and in FT there's the patented protection scheme; but maybe those would confuse the user unnecessarily?); however, the caption is most likely not supposed to be split to above and below the figure itself:
