SDRAM on STM32F439_Eval platform and demo project

I was wondering what the SDRAM is used for in the demo project on the STM32FR439_Eval platform. Is the SDRAM used as frame buffer for UI or anything in the demo? Or is it only ever exercised in one of the tests? Also, is the Emwin Framebuffer located in SRAM or in the SDRAM ?
