On powering up a new STM32F407 Discovery board the LD1 led keeps flashing

I just opened a new STM32F407 Discovery board and connected it to my laptop through the Mini USB port. After connecting the LD1 led keeps flashing and I am not able to download my code into the MCU through the STM32CubeIDE. I get an error saying "Erro in initializaing ST-LINK device". Any help would be appreciated.

It looks like some outdated firmware still being at the built-in ST-LINK/V2 resp. ST-LINK/V2-A.

Please try to update the firmware by reconnecting the board and starting

Help > ST-LINK Upgrade, then follow the recommendations.
