hi,

I am ankit and using STM32F4 discovery board. I am new to ST and beginner in C programming too. I have to send command sequence in hex format to another device whose details are...

  • baud rate 9600/19200(default 9600)
  • paririty NON
  • stop bit 1
  • data 8 bits
  • only RX, TX and GND used
  • timeout 100ms
  • Interbyte timeout =5ms

In AVR microcontroller I had communicated this device successfully, part of code ..

//////////////Avr code///////////////
void pump_on_s1_on_s2_off(void)
{
 USART0_WriteChar(0x4f);	//command
 USART0_WriteChar(0x01); //size
 USART0_WriteChar(0xE0);//data
 //USART0_WriteChar((0xFF-(0x4f+0x01+0xE0))+1);
 USART0_WriteChar(0xD0);//checksum
}

In docklight terminal, my command sequence is <4F><01><E0><D0> and also succeeded ..0690X000008BZOsQAO.png

In STM32, I am using CubeMX to generate the code with 168MZ highest frequency

and my programming is

Please help where I am wrong.

The STM32 uses CMOS levels, these aren't compatible with RS232 levels and can't be directly connected. Use a MAX3232 type device to interface them.
