Is this a misprint in the STM32G4 documentation?

This is in the Reference Manual for the STM32G4 series advanced Arm®-based 32-bit MCUs

Thank you so much for escalating this on the community. It seems to be a typo. That should be the same as on the TXFTCFG[2:0] of the USART_CR3. I've escalated this internally for correction on the concerned documents (under internal ticket number 210224).

Yeah probably. HAL certainly follows the convention you would expect.
