Is ST planning to release a faster STM32?

    CPU itself is fast enough, reading from flash should be better though. But fast flash and low power ''does not compute''.

    STM32 is the best Cortex-M3 in peripherals, but it is loosing in CPU speedy for the competitors. So I would like to know if someone knows if ST is working on that.

    So, what is the secret of NXP LPC17xx and Luminary Micro LM3S9B95 parts? They spent more MW/MHZ to achieve 100MHZ? Or they use better silicon technology?

    IMHO NXP has better unit for reading from flash. I really don't like the idea of using waitstates. As for tha Luminary, we'll see. They moved to smaller technology recently (0.13um).

    But... MHz is not the key factor here. I'd say it's the mix of needed peripherials and integration with the core (DMA, data throuhpu and similar), power saving options, peripherial bugs and price. :)

    BTW, STM32 can run at 108 MHz, I've done it accidentally (that is why I didn't test it further).
