Is it okay to connect a 25v wire on an A0 pin to The STM32F072RB Dev board?

While testing the data line, I have connected a wire to an A0 pin which gives 25v on full throttle signal. After dumping the code can't get any output as expected and found few registers were heating up.

The Absolute Maximum Values for pins are listed in the datasheet. In most cases, 5V is the max. In some cases, 3.3V (or operating voltage) is the max.

An 5 V on 5-Volt tolerant pins is also only allowed on a powered device!
