I might add....

Current frontrunner solution is the TI TXB0108.

What you're looking for is a called a ''voltage level translator''.

You just have to be sure it meets your requirements ( In or Out ( or both ), speed, voltage levels, etc ... )

We're using the TXS0206 for the same purpose.

Thanks for the pointer to the TXS family. With its internal pullups it looks like the TXS0108 will be a better fit than the TXB0108.
