Inquiry regarding marking interpretation and manufacturing origin for STM32F722RET6 (CHN GQ marking)

Hi ST Community and Support Team,

I am currently working with the STM32F722RET6 microcontroller and would like to seek some clarification regarding the physical markings on the chip package.

Regarding the "CHN" marking on the IC surface, I would like to confirm the following details for compliance purposes:

  1. Back-end Origin: Does "CHN" confirm the assembly and test (ATP) was done in China (e.g., ST Shenzhen)?
  2. Wafer Diffusion Origin: Where is the front-end wafer fabrication usually performed for this part?
  3. Authentication: Please help verify the following laser-etched markings:
    • Part Number: STM32F722RET6
    • Country Code: CHN

Hello @Daniel Lin58

I removed the Lot Code/Trace Code from your post as it could be used for bad purpose.

I suggest to open an OLS ticket over this link: https://ols.st.com/s/. Or contact your local sales or FAE.

Same question (with same picture?) here:

A complex system that works is invariably found to have evolved from a simple system that worked.A complex system designed from scratch never works and cannot be patched up to make it work.
