Inquiry Regarding Long-Term Availability, Product Longevity, and EOL Status of STM32 MCUs

Hello STMicroelectronics Community,

We are evaluating the following STM32 microcontrollers for long-term use in our drone flight controller development:

  1. STM32G431

  2. STM32G431KBU6

  3. STM32G474VET6

  4. STM32H743VIT6

  5. STM32H723VGT6

We would like to understand the long-term market availability and product lifecycle commitment for these MCUs.

Could you please clarify the following points?

  1. Product Longevity: For how many years will these MCUs remain available for purchase and production?

  2. Lifecycle Status: Are these models active, recommended for new designs, or approaching end-of-life (EOL)?

  3. Long-Term Supply: Does STMicroelectronics provide a guaranteed supply period or product longevity commitment for these specific MCUs?

  4. EOL Notification: If any model is planned for discontinuation, how much advance notice will be provided?

  5. Replacement & Migration: If a model becomes obsolete, will a pin-compatible or functionally compatible replacement be available?

Our concern is to avoid selecting an MCU that may become unavailable after a few years, forcing us to redesign the flight controller or PCB.

We would appreciate your guidance on the expected product lifecycle and long-term supply assurance for each model.

You can find the longevity commitment on the Product Page; eg,

Hover your mouse over the icon for more details:

Click it to get full details:

Beyond that, you’ll need to contact your local ST Sales office or Distributor:

https://www.st.com/content/st_com/en/contact-us.html

Or raise a Support Case:

A complex system that works is invariably found to have evolved from a simple system that worked.A complex system designed from scratch never works and cannot be patched up to make it work.
