Question

I know there a unique ID for each STM32 MCU, but I was wondering if there is something similar for each discovery board? I mean can I identify the board (not the chip) by a unique ID?

    No

In some cases you could use OTP.

In others the Micron QSPI devices are uniquely serialized.

What's wrong with the 96-bit serial number of the ST-LINK of the board?

Might help to know the specific chip/board, and the underlying purpose..
