I am using STM32L053R8 Nucleo board. Is it possible to migrate X-CUBE-SMCARD firmware (AN4800) to work on my board (there is an example for STM32L0538DISCOVERY) without ST8024? I tried and at the moment I don't get any response from smart card.

Yes, the readme file in the example project and the AN4800 should provide enough information on that. If the card in not sending an ATR, check what kind of card it is and if it works in a regular reader.
