Is there some way I can programmatically turn off the LCD Backlight on the STM32F429i-Discovery when I don't need it?

Tx

Have you looked at the schematics?

A complex system that works is invariably found to have evolved from a simple system that worked.A complex system designed from scratch never works and cannot be patched up to make it work.

Schematic says No, although there are 4 resistors (R47-R50) you could remove.

Thanks ... that's what I thought but secretly hoped that I was missing something obvious and simple :)
