Question

How do I manually download older firmware versions

My company's proxy server is configured using a script which prevents my STM32CubeMx software from accessing the http servers for updates.

I have downloaded STM32CubeL4 firmware version 1.7.0, but only 1.6.0 is supported by CubeMx version 4.20.

Is there a way to manually download STM32CubeL4 Firmware v 1.6.0 direct from the STM site?

Thanks,

Rob

    Hi

    rblock

    ,

I couldn't reproduce the issue from my side. I have created a project using an STM32L4 device and it was generated correctly (with V1.7.0 drivers).

Could you pleaseverify that you are really using CubeMX V4.0 (Help-> About)

You may share your ''ioc'' file for further investigation.

Thanks for your response Khouloud. I had version 4.19 installed, and viewed the release notes for v 4.20 which said they only supported up to v1.6.0 of the STM32L4. That must have been a typo, since installing 4.20 fixed the issue.

I was originally hesitant to install 4.20 since there wasn't a way to 'upgrade' without just writing over the previous install, but that seemed to work OK without breaking anything.

    Hi

    Block.Robert

    ,

In section 2.3 ''Firmware package versions'', it's indicated that for the STM32L4 devices, firmware package version V1.7.0 is supported.

I think you was referring to table 5 of the release note, which is relevant for theSTM32CubeMX V4.0.

    Khouloud.

I frequently download and mirror things. I would like to see ST use and provide torrents for this process, given the size and improvement in availability that would provide. There has to be a lot of wasted bandwidth from aborted downloads that keep getting started, but don't complete and can't be restarted where they left off.

I'll post a link when I get to a computer.
